Yes, I do admit I do love this tote. Just the right amount of funk factor plus lots of room inside (including 6 pockets). This one is for Lindsey, my hairdresser. I was in to get a haircut last week and we decided to barter. I make a tote bag for her, she gives me a fabulous cut. DEAL! I am off to deliver it this afternoon so had to snap some pictures before I say goodbye to my 1970’s inspired owl tote. At least I know it is going to a good home!

My friend Lisa and I share a love of antiquing, creating, and vintage kitsch among many other things. For Lisa’s birthday I wanted to make her a pennant banner for a play house belonging to her beautiful twin daughters. The curtains in the play house are made of a sweet vintage print so Lisa gave me the remnants from that project and I added to it with prints from my vintage sheet collection. Tiny grosgrain ribbons were added for extra flair. This project was so much fun to make. Here are some pictures of the finished banner hanging in my apricot tree.

This weekend was Avery’s birthday party. She invited five friends over to make fairy gardens. during the past few weeks, I collected vintage planters from thrift stores, colorful glass pebbles, mosses, picket fences etc. My mom helped out by sending little items that she has collected over the years to add to the mix (Thanks Mom!). I set the patio up into stations. One station had the soil, sand, rocks and shells. Another had a little table filled with small animal figurines. The work table had Irish moss, baby tears and reindeer moss. Of course there was a snack station as well with fruit, candy, brie and crackers to keep the designers in top form. I made mushrooms by spray painting rocks with a red gloss then adding white polka dots. Here are some pictures from this fun day! I was over the moon with how cute these turned out. The girls really seemed to have a fun time too. Happy birthday to my Elfin Queen!

Today I worked at a garage sale benefiting a local art group. The items for sale were mostly jewelry and accessories. Look at these sweet little wooden earrings I scored! That is a lot of happy for two bucks!!
